Game Recap: Texas - 7, Germany - 2

LAREDO -- Harlingen, Texas defeated Paderborn 7-2 on Saturday, to advance in the Palomino World Series. Paderborn, Germany has been eliminated, ending a great feel-good story about the first ever European representative in the Palomino World Series.

Harlingen, Texas fired up the offense in the second inning when they scored one run when Juan Ramon Zambrano singled.

 Texas notched three runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by Texas was led by Marco Sanchez and Roberto Guerro, all driving in runs in the inning.

 Elijah James Estavanes toed the rubber for Texas. He surrendered two runs on six hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out 13 and walking one.

 Luca Stefan Kloppenburg was on the pitcher's mound for Germany. He went two and a third innings, allowing five runs on one hit and striking out four. Maria Von Kapff threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

 Zambrano led Harlingen, Texas with two hits in four at bats.

Paderborn, Germany racked up eight hits on the day. Merlin Tyrus Bendlin and Simon Bäumer each managed multiple hits for Paderborn, Germany. Bendlin went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Paderborn, Germany in hits.

This loss ends Germany's first-ever appearance in the Palomino World Series. As for Texas, they move on to face the loser of Laredo and Chinese-Taipei.
